Combat:

The combat is simple in this game. You can divide the combat into two groups. Melee fighting and spell casting. Melee fighting is done from close range. Spell casting is done from a distance or close range if they intended.

Melee Combat

Melee combat is simple. you just face the target you want to attack and press the ctrl button while standing in front of your target. Then a message will appear in the text chat of how much damage your attack did. You can continue attacking by pressing ctrl over and over again or you can just hold the ctrl button.

Spell Casting

Spell casting can be a bit more complicated than Melee fighting. To cast spells, you must first select a spell. Open your spell list and highlight the spell you want to use. the next step is, you select a target by double clicking on what/who you want to cast your spell on. Then press the cast button in the spell list.

There is also a faster way to keep casting. You first memorize a spell by double clicking on the spell you want to use. It will say : You memorized (memorized spell ).Then you select a target by double clicking on what/who you want to cast your spell on. Then you press the INSERT button to continually cast the memorized spell.

Using Items

Using items can also play a big part in combat, if its about switching equipment, drinking a potion to recover health or to quickly use an escape scroll to warp you out of danger. Using items is easily, you just open your inventory window and highlight the item you want to use and than press "Use" to use the item. You can also drop items by pressing "Drop"

Equipment decay

Yup, you guessed it, equipment durability can run out. In the equipment window where you can see what stuff your wearing, it will display 2 numbers with a slash between ( example : 65/120 ). this number is known to be bugged so you shouldn't count to much on it. When you get hit by an enemy the durability points will decrease. If the number reaches 0 ( i.e. : 0/120 ) the equipment part will break and be lost for ever. That is why its important to fix your items before they get destroyed. Fixing is usually possible in the Sandatahan (weapon/armor shops) or a Panday (blacksmith) in the nearest town. You just open the shop window and select fix, then select an item and press Fix to repair the item for a certain amount of Ginto (gold). The same goes for weapons. each time you attack the durability of your weapon will decrease and may break. be sure to repair all equipment before it gets destroyed. you will get a yellow warning message in the chat screen if an equipment part is about to break.

Repairing Items

To repair items, is almost the same as shopping. You just open a shop that you think is able to fix items ( mostly weapon/armor shops and blacksmiths ) then press "Fix". Select an item you want to fix and than press "Fix" again. The shopkeeper will repair your item for a small amount of money depending on the damage of the equipment.

NPC Chat and Stores:

Barter Trade

Barter is simple. When you enter a map you will sometimes hear merchants offering their wares, it means there is a shop available on the map. To buy/sell/trade items in the shop. You just open the shop window and select one of the deals presented. Highlight the deal you like and can afford, than press the "Deal" button. It's as simple as that.

Talking to NPCs

Some NPCs (Non-Player or computer controlled characters) hold valuable information about the game world such as quests, hidden items, special places, monster weakness, stats, etc.  You may find that listening to what they have to say could be quite useful at times. To start a conversation with an NPC (usually those who apear inside houses or are alone in a map) type "Hello [NPC Name]" (w/o the quotes) in your chat field and enter. Each response by the NPC contains key words that trigger another response, these key words starts with a ~ before it (ex. ~Kalapan, ~Kawayan, ~etc.). You can use these key words in a sentence, question, or by itself; type it in your chat field, you don't need to add the ~ before it (ex. if the key word is "can I ~help you?" then you can type/enter "Yes, help me!" or just "help" w/o the quotes of course.) The key word is not case sensitive, however it must be spelled as shown and if used at the end of a sentence - you must put a space after the word, before a period, comma, quotes, or exclamation point. To exit the chat, type & enter "bye" (w/o the quotes) in the chat field. Most NPCs that you can talk to will be inside a shop or a bahay  (house), most of these chatty NPC's names will be displayed or "whispered" to you by the gods in baybayin. For an explanation of baybayin go to the "Baybayin ng Anak Bathala" page.
