Daigdíg ng Anak Bathala (World Maps):
[These are not final
maps and are subject to drastic changes.]
[October
2005]
Continuing mapping
expansion, improvements, and coding / NPC chats and scripted tiles.
A couple of rudimentary quests are in place inside the "Cave of
Skulls" (Yungib Bungo ) where you'll need special items to
open passages and be able to survive deep water. You'll also find items
here that is needed for future quests. We also introduced a couple of new
monsters in this area like the skeleton demon (kalansai), imp
skeleton (kalansai ng tianak), imp (tianak), and imp twin (kakambal
tianak).
Other areas like Barangay Balite are being developed, houses/huts
are being added and we are starting to script the townsfolk
"chat". |

[September 2005]
Continuing mapping
expansion, improvements, and coding / NPC chats and scripted tiles. The example
below is a "Sabongan" (Cockfighting Arena) map and how a pseudo
gambling system is implemented into the game. Players have to buy vouchers to be
able to "bet" on the game, which they either win or lose EXP points.
Because of Player Worlds v1.4's limitations, item scripting does not allow
players to win gold or currency yet. This will be fixed in the next PW version;
it will be implemented into Anak Bathala when the time comes.
Cockfight Arena:
- a scripted tile that tells the player
to "buy a voucher" (patunay bayad) available in the
map's store.
- the "voucher" acts like a key
that opens a gate that lets the player into the stands.
- as players step into a warp tile, it
lets them "pass" a blocked tile
which prevents them from returning/exploiting the gambling script.
- another scripted tile triggers the
gambling script. the player wins/lose EXP points, also if the player's
winning points equal a certain "bonus" amount - they can
also earn a SKILL point bonus.
- players exits left, a warp tile
prevents them from returning/exploiting the gambling script tile.
- a script tells players
"thanks" and to go back to the front to gamble again.
